Third Annual Black & White Art Exhibit Opening Friday, Feb. 5

HAMILTON, NY – MAD Art, Inc. in Hamilton’s downtown Community ArtSpace will hold its third annual Black & White Affair on Friday, February 5, 2010, from 5 to 7 pm.

“This show gets better every year! MAD Art’s first Black & White Show was all about excitement and fun,” said John Conti, of Hamilton.  Last year people again took care in following the suggested dress code at the opening reception with the enthusiasm of a Halloween party. Conti is an active member, featured artist, and frequent volunteer at MAD Art.

The public has called for an encore of this fun, quirky monochromatic show and the member artists have stepped up with new and exciting pieces. It is rumored that a Lee Brown Coye “apparition” has been sighted recently in the subterranean gallery.

The new display of artwork in Black & White (and shades of grey) will be on display at the MAD Art Gallery through the end of March.

The Black & White theme will extend to the refreshments for the evening, featuring black and white hors d’oeuvres and desserts. The gallery committee suggests those attending come attired in black and white.

Regular gallery hours are Friday from noon to 6 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Most pieces at the gallery are available for purchase.

MAD Art, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) arts advocacy organization serving Madison and surrounding counties. For more information on MAD Art, visit the website at, call (315) 824-1843 or email
